About Rishi
I believe good work needs good communication.
I’ve spent the last 14+ years working with organisations trying to solve some of society’s most difficult problems — from public health and road safety to youth participation, volunteerism, gender and social development.
Today, I work with nonprofits on communications, digital strategy and technology, while building Arcucom — a company focused on helping nonprofits strengthen their digital presence and systems.
From programmes to communication
My career started in the development sector, where I had the opportunity to work across UN programmes, international nonprofits, government and civil-society organisations.
Over time, I moved closer to the communication side of the work — understanding how organisations tell their stories, build partnerships, engage audiences and create public support for important issues.
I’ve worked on national public-health and road-safety campaigns, youth and volunteer networks, media initiatives, stakeholder engagement and digital communication.
These experiences shaped how I think about nonprofit communication today:
It is about understanding the organisation, the audience, the message, the channel and the system connecting them.
What I work on today
I’m particularly interested in the intersection of nonprofits, communications and technology.
I work with organisations to think through questions such as:
- — How can we communicate our impact more clearly?
- — How can the right people discover our organisation?
- — How should we use digital platforms and technology?
- — How can communication support fundraising and partnerships?
- — How do we build systems instead of relying on one-off campaigns?
- — How can a nonprofit become more credible and easier to support?
I’m interested in practical answers — not technology for its own sake, and not communication for communication's sake.
Why nonprofits
Nonprofits often work on problems that matter deeply, but they operate with limited resources, fragmented systems and competing priorities.
I believe better communication and better use of technology can help close some of that gap.
A strong organisation should be able to explain:
- 1 What problem are we solving?
- 2 Why should people care?
- 3 What difference are we making?
- 4 Why should they trust us?
- 5 How can they support us?
My work is increasingly about helping organisations answer those questions — and building the digital foundations around them.
What I'm building
I’m building Arcucom as a practical partner for nonprofits that want to become more visible, credible and digitally capable.
At the same time, this website is where I document what I'm learning.
I write about nonprofit communications, digital strategy, technology, visibility and the practical realities of building organisations in the social-impact sector.
I don't have all the answers.
But after years of working inside this ecosystem, I have a growing body of experience, ideas and lessons that I want to share.
Outside the work
I’m curious about how organisations, people and technology interact.
I enjoy learning, experimenting with new tools, and turning ideas into practical systems.
I also believe that good work requires some distance from work — time with family, reading, thinking, and simply slowing down.
This site is therefore not just a record of what I've done.
It is a place to document what I'm learning, what I'm building, and what I believe could make the nonprofit sector stronger.
